Topic: EMAIL - MAKING IT EASIER TO MANAGE

1/17/2012 Speaker: Al Cheeks Company:  
EMAIL - MAKING IT EASIER TO MANAGE AND HOW TO SWITCH BETWEEN EMAIL CLIENTS. The Chicago Computer Society South Suburban Computer Club Meeting to be held on Tuesday, January 17, 2012, will feature a presentation focused on email usage. Al Cheeks will show how to effectively use filters to automatically channel email into appropriate folders. Attendees will also learn how to easily transition between various Online Email providers (Yahoo, Gmail, etc.) and more traditional POP3 services. This knowledge will make your email experiences easier to manage and more productive.
All meetings start with an “Open Forum” where attendees can get answers to their computer-related questions prior to the featured topic presentation.

The South Suburban Computer Club Christmas Party will be held December 20, 2011 at the Glenwood Oaks Restaurant. To celebrate the night, South Suburban Computer Club members only will have the opportunity to participate in a raffle for an Apple iPad2 to be given away during the party.

Time: 6:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m., cash bar
7:30 p.m. Dinner

Menu: Your choice of:
Prime Rib
BBQ Ribs (full slab)
Lemon Chicken
Fresh Catch
Family Style
Vegetables

Coffee, Tea

Google has evolved from a primary search tool to become a prominent player in today’s computer environment. Their products are quickly becoming the preferred industry standard in each of their fields. What is even more amazing is that they are free, powerful and somewhat easy to use. Tonight Al Cheeks will demonstrate how many of the individual Google programs work and how much fun and enjoyment they can bring us.

Topic: ONLINE BANKING – COULD IT BE RIGHT FOR YOU?

Now that we have learned how to take the digital pictures we want, what can we do with them? Al Cheeks will show us how to get our pictures into the computer after the shot. He will review methods to enhance your pictures and options to share them with others. Don’t miss this sure to be informative presentation.
