Notes From The
President’s Desk
by Al Cheeks
CCS President
MX-IV.
This was by far the best Mini-Expo yet!
Many thanks to
those of you who attended. The feedback we have received
indicates everyone had an enormous day, a grand time, and giant
hot dogs. And, many took home valuable prizes.
A big thanks to
those who pitched in and helped in its execution – working the
corridors, working the registration booths, filling the many
welcome bags, and monitoring the classrooms.
Kudos to CCS
members Charles Berkley, Joe Nowak and Bill Ziegler for their
part in helping to make MX-IV a success by giving standing room
only presentations.
Our sincere
thanks to Advanced Micro Devices (AMD), Linspire, WebWorking
Services, Hitachi, Smart Computing, Connect 3D, Epson, and
Microsoft for their support and presentations. Our thanks, also
to the 31 Vendors (listed page 29) who donated more than 200
products for our door prize drawings. We encourage all of you to
visit their web sites and investigate their products.
They support us,
we should support them.
Congratulations
to Donn Fairbank for holding the “lucky ticket” for the Grand
Prize, a Canon S2 IS, 5MP, 12x Digital Camera and an Epson
Picturemate Deluxe Viewer Edition Printer.
For those who
were unable to attend, we still have a number of MX-IV
Commemorative Shirts available for a donation of $5.00 per
shirt. Contact Beata. These will go fast.
The date for MX-V
has been set as September 16, 2006, and the location, Prairie
State College, Chicago Heights, IL.
