CCS FALL 1998 Seminar Registration To be held at DeVry, 3300 N. Campbell, Chicago Sunday November 1 and 8, 1998 Registration FormThe Chicago Computer Society (CCS) is pleased to announce courses in our 1998 Fall Seminar Series being held in Chicago. Educational classes will be held on Sunday, November 1 and on Sunday, November 8. They will cover a variety of personal computer topics for beginning to advanced users. To register for a seminar, full payment must accompany this form. No places can be reserved without preregistration and prepayment. Seminars are filled on a first-come, first-served basis, and enrollment is limited. If a seminar is filled when you register, your registration form and check will be returned to you. Walk in registration is permitted, except for the hands-on classes, for an additional $10.00 fee. Once enrolled you will receive a confirmation letter for the class or classes you have registered for and directions to the site. Cancellation Policy: CCS reserves the right to cancel seminars because of insufficient enrollment. If a seminar is canceled, registrants will be notified within three days of the seminar date and receive a full refund. Please provide both a day and evening phone number so you can be contacted if there are changes. You may cancel a seminar up to 2 days before the seminar date for a full refund. Refunds cannot be made for cancellations after 2 days prior to a seminar or for no-shows. Up to date seminar information is available by voice (773) 588-7633. CCSs phone line has a voice mail box for Education. Classes that will be held and classes that are canceled will be stated here. The final update regarding classes will be on Thursday evening, October 29th.
Tuition: The cost of each seminar is listed with the seminar information enclosed. Please indicate your CCS membership number on the registration form. Non-members may join CCS at the time of registration and receive the member rate for seminars. Membership fees are shown on the registration form and are not refundable. Seminars are taught by CCS members who are experts in their respective fields.Because instructors virtually donate their time, seminars are offered at very reasonable fees for CCS members. CCS Seminars are accredited by the State of Illinois Department of Professional Regulation for Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credit. You will earn one CPE credit for each full seminar hour. To facilitate learning and interaction, seminars are kept small, typically 5 to 20 people. Be sure to register early to ensure a spot in the seminar of your choice. Most of the classes are Lecture and Demonstration. Hands-on classes are stated after the description of the class.CCS is dedicated to expanding knowledge, understanding, and using microcomputers by individuals and professionals. Campbell, Chicago BUILDING A WEB SITE Class D101-D201 Well skip over the hype of why the Web is the best thing since sliced whatever, and get down to the nuts and bolts of building a Web presence. Well review HTML 4, as well as, the related jargon. Well show how to install and use a Web server on your computer, and put together some interesting Web pages. Familiarity with HTML will be a plus, but is not required. Bring your ideas, story-board mockups, and sites you like and dislike. Well be exploring ways to make things happen, and get results. Whether you are getting started, or want to make the most of a good start, you are sure to gain both knowledge as well as tips, tricks, and techniques. Well cover a lot of material. Come prepared to roll up your sleeves, put on your thinking cap, and have a lot of fun doing so. Prerequisite: Experience on getting on the Internet and browsing the Web.
Prerequisite: Attendance at the morning class to sign up for the afternoon class.
